Imagination leads to action; but to imagine fruitfully, one must read extensibly. We hope to help children discover the pleasure of reading early in childhood, when they are naturally most curious and imaginative.

The survival of a true democracy is predicated upon the establishment of a well-educated citizenry. It is profoundly much more than us simply exercising our right to vote.

The right to vote is only a means to an end. For the votes to matter, we must first bring meaning to the people who vote. A true democracy is only sustainable when a well-educated citizenry unites to act on what is best for humanity as a whole.

To establish a well-educated citizenry, every citizen needs a good education. A good education opens our eyes to what is beyond our immediate surrounding, both in space and in time. It helps us understand perspectives that are different from our own. It helps us see clearly, think carefully, and act conscientiously.

A reliable source of a good education is the diligent reading of good books.

Lairik, in Manipuri, means Books. We are a small organisation that hopes to capture and expand the imagination and creativity of young minds by helping them discover the pleasure of reading.

Every child should have the opportunity to read good books, no matter their circumstances or background. We focus on supporting children who are unfortunately denied this privilege due to human circumstances.

This is our modest contribution to humanity.
